Mother's Day is all about LOVE

A Mother’s love is as timeless as anything precious and heaven sent can be

It is a love that unlike anything else on earth can completely set all that is divine within you free

If you never knew how strongly you could care for another

Look in your child’s eyes the very first time and you will completely discover

That God placed within your womb the essence upon which his grace and almighty power begins

The day you became a Mother your child comprised the way in which life’s force, your legacy, extends

What I think Life is about

On one of my favorite reality shows one of the character’s romantic interests said life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% how you respond.  I think this is true in many ways. I have heard a similar observation before.  In The Matrix Reloaded one of the characters said life is a relationship between cause and effect or action and reaction.  Is this not true?  I can sum all that up in one word.  Life is about ATTITUDE!  The attitude you have whether you are acting or reacting, causing something to happen or seeing the effects you have brought into being.  I choose to make my life great by having a great attitude despite what happens.  Is this always automatic?  Not yet, but it will be.  I am a work in progress being etched and molded with each passing experience in my life like any other masterpiece.

Standards

Standards.  EVERYONE should have them, use them, and pretty much live by them when it comes to giving and demanding that you receive respect.  Unfortunately in the world we live in so many people are broken on the inside and have no idea how to stand up for themselves, what they want or how they want to be treated.  I have come to think of Standards as more of a personal choice.  They can’t be taught apparently because some people can talk to another person about why to have them until they are blue in the face but ultimately it is up to that individual to choose to live by a certain level of self respect.  That is where it all begins.
If you don’t respect or love yourself you cannot possibly be successful at trying to consistently institute standards in your relationships because there is no foundation upon which to stand.  It would be like trying to build a museum upon quick sand.  No matter how beautiful the building or amazing the things inside it will undoubtedly sink right into the ground perhaps even to never be seen or enjoyed by others again.

To Love

To love is to face the ultimate fear

To really learn what it is to listen with a trusting ear

To swim in a vast ocean and allow the tides to carry you where they may

To take a course of action and never sway

To at times cry more than you ever cried

To choose the best option over hurt and lies

To protect and adore another more than yourself

To never think again of being loved by someone else

To courageously parasail on the arms of a soft breeze with no parachute

To be turned inside out no matter how resolute

To learn who you are all over again

To see that just when you thought you were home, the journey begins again

I am where I am in this moment and it is enough

This lady that reflects has had a few hard lessons over the past few years. But the main object of beauty in it all is that these hardships have revealed that God makes no mistakes and that if you have the faith to see that despite past errors in judgment, trials or tribulations then you can be hopeful. It is with hope that you can continue to march into a better future.  My Grandmother says all the time, “a mistake made is a lesson learned”.  I know completely what she means.

A naïve and idealistic younger version of me declared often that I wanted to live life with the least regret possible. Years later a lady now reflecting on what has gotten her to this point knows that without having made mistakes you haven’t lived! So here is my perspective on it all--   You’ve got to realize everything that has happened to you has helped etch, mold, and prepare you. If you have lived you have experienced. If you have learned from those experiences then you have grown. Walk not into your future ashamed or discouraged. If you have nothing else have faith!
